The Farmer & The Larder is the brain child CheFarmer Matthew Raiford and Food Alchemist Jovan Sage where they combine their talents to promote healthy and sustainable living, by bringing homegrown and homemade foodstuffs and kitchenware to your table. In their brick and morter store they curate a selection of the finest products and cookware from farmers, artisans and purveyors and produce phenomenal cooking classes. Middleton Made Knives is a new venture by bladesmith Quintin Middleton based in Saint Stephen, South Carolina - a small town outside of historic Charleston.
Mr. Middleton has been producing knives since 2003 and has had the fortune to be mentored by fellow South Carolina master bladesmith, Jason Knight. Jason calls Quintin “the GQ craftsman. Full of artistry, craftsmanship and style.”
Other influences found in Quintin's work include greats such as Jerry Hucks, Michael Rader, and the legendary Bob Kramer.
Using high carbon steel, each knife is custom made to the exact specifications requested by each customer. Quintin puts great care into each piece and he stands by the simple philosophy that every great chef needs a great knife, at a great price.

Having launched as a Benefit Corp. in 2010, Taharka Brothers is a small batch socially sourced and artisnal producer of ice cream and sorbets made from radical recipes.
The Baltimore based for-profit and for-community social enterprise is managed and operated primarily by college aged young adults of color. We use our award-winning ice creams, sorbets, and business initiatives to party for the right to fight for a better and brighter tomorrow. Our offerings serve as a vessel for the continuous flow of conversations in support of cultural understanding, economic and social justice, civic involvement, and actions of uplift for the powerless.
Repping various parts of a city steeped in struggle, we've thought deeply about friends, families, futures, hopes, 'hoods and heroes asking ourselves hard questions. Could we promote peace, social and economic justice to communities both local and non-local via an ice cream business? Could we make a good living and have crazy fun? We also thought on things that have inspired us, both sung and unsung human rights warriors that have made our world a more just place. We meditated on the struggles in the 'hood, the music that maintains us and the writers and poets that sustain us. And of course we contemplated food - good food - and yes, those who go without food. We believed we could create a little sumthin' that might, if done right, make a big difference (in a sweet way) in both our lives and the lives of others.
That Brown Girl Cooks! - Black Eyed Pea Hummus
That Brown Girl Cooks! is the brainchild of Chef Kristi Brown-Wokoma and has been a culinary mainstay in the Seattle, Wa market for almost 20 years. Chef Kristi has shifted the focus of her business to producing her hand crafted, artisinal black eyed pea hummus that has taken over the Seattle specialty food market.
Bee Sweet Lemonade
“Buy a Bottle, Save a Bee.” So goes the motto of BeeSweet Lemonade, a Texas start-up launched by nine-year-old Mikaila, who donates 20 percent of proceeds to local and international efforts to save honeybees. Using a 1940s flaxseed lemonade recipe from her grandma and locally sourced honey, Mikaila mixes up an award-winning product that’s available in health food stores and restaurants nationwide. The drink is also found at youth entrepreneurial events, where Mikaila works behind the BeeSweet Lemonade stand, dishing out facts about the tiny insects and their preservation.
