Yes! Empowering Our Young Men With Literacy

The mission of Brooklyn Alumnae Chapter’s annual Black Book Fair is to promote literacy in the borough of Brooklyn while encouraging a love of reading for all ages.

This FREE event is open to adults and children from the Brooklyn community and beyond. With your help, we plan to expose the community to different genres of literature and provide young children with a variety of reading activities – including, but not limited to, a children’s reading corner, read-alouds by participating authors, and other fun activities.

This year we will gather again at Medgar Evers College on Sunday, April 19, 2015, at the Academic Complex Science Building, 1638 Bedford Avenue (between Crown and Carroll Streets), Brooklyn, NY 11225, from 2 pm until 6 pm in celebration of this year’s theme: “Yes! Empowering Our Young Men With Literacy”.
